My Joomla story is a long one but it all boils down to the friendships I have made in this powerfull community.

Back in 2004 I was searching for a solution for a client's website requirements and at that time I had never used a CMS for a website build. I had stumbled across Mambo CMS and thought it was ver interesting. Although it didn't fully meet our needs we noticed that you could extend it. So we decided to build a component that would fill in the missing requirements needed for this client. We followed the Joomla fork in August 2005 and haven't looked back.

Shortly after the fork we made a decision to sell one of the Joomla extensions we had custom built and the rest is history. Our extension development company was born.

We soon began meeting others in the community that started our in the same way as I did and slowly became friends. I started attending various conferences and absolutely loved meeting these people from all over the world. This community has allowed me to meet people and be exposed to different cultures that I would have not beed exposed to otherwise. I have learned that Joomla is all about the community.

The more people I have gotten to know, the more involved I get in the Joomla project itself. Without the people, the project would never work. And without the project, the community wouldn't work. It's has always amazed me at how a piece of software can actually be the root cause of starting a friendship between users of that software.

Since the day our company found Mambo way back in 2004, we have not used anything other than Joomla for all our projects. It has become our tool of choice for website and web application development. Our company has grown a lot and we currently have 7 empoyees and we love using Joomla every day in all that we do.
